If You Like The Cinque Terre, You Will Love This

There is no doubt that the Cinque Terre are one the most sought after locations in the Italian Riviera and the one that attracts the most tourists, but that stretch of coastline that extends from Genoa to the gulf of La Spezia has many gems that are less known, but not even one bit less charming.

From Genoa to Camogli, Portofino, Portovenere, Lerici and Tellaro it’s a long string of quaint seaside villages with pastel-colored houses, rocky cliffs, small beaches and lush vineyards on the mountainsides dropping steeply into the sea.

The photo  above depicts Boccadasse. Would you believe that what was once a small fishing port is now completely enclosed in the city of Genoa? Despite being circled by a high-traffic road and a busy neighborhood, it has managed to retain its centuries-old charm and car-free tranquillity.

Many people, especially foreigners, who come visit the Cinque Terre usually include them as part of a Grand Tour of Italy and would miss a lot if they decided to skip those other, nearby places.

It is precisely for this reason that we at Mediterranean Photo Tours, when designing our next photography workshop in the Cinque Terre, have decided to add an extension that will bring our guests along the Riviera, from Genoa to Portovenere.

If you decide to join us, we can meet in Genoa, which is very well connected to the rest of Europe, and then we will bring you down the coast in a private bus, exploring the best the area has to offer. We will finish the tour in Portovenere. You can then choose whether you want to go back to Genoa on the bus, or get off in La Spezia, which is only a 50-minute train ride from Pisa and Tuscany, to continue your tour.

If you only have a couple days to spare, don’t give up. We’ve made it possible to join the tour only for the Cinque Terre part and for a very affordable price too.

If this has piqued your interest, head over to the workshop page to get all the details and, if you still have questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

Still not convinced? Look at the pictures below and then we’ll talk 😉
